What a year it's been for Elite Studios; we don't even know where to start! 

We've had the most fulfilling and achieving year in our 13 year history. We hosted our show 'The Story of Tonight' to 4 sell out crowds at Theatr Clwyd, we put over 100 candidates through IDTA exams and maintained our 100% pass rate, and we won our SECOND GOLD medal at the Dance World Cup in Portugal in June, along with 2 bronzes.

What's even more exciting is that we have already started laying the foundations for an even more successful year in 2020. Our candidates have been chosen for January exams, we had 9 dances through to the January semi-finals of That's Showbiz, and our Juniors are heading off to Rome in all efforts to retain that gold medal at the Dance World Cup!

This weekend saw the first time we had entered the UK Dance Class Championships and Elite School of Dance were superb! Massive congratulations to Isobel, Jenny and Olivia (who all progressed to the semi finals in Modern (Isobel in Ballet too) and also to our two youngest Eliters! 


Both Daisy and Amy made it to the semi finals in Tap, followed by Daisy being awarded 3rd place out of 60 tappers in the final! Quite a phenomenal result for a 9 year old! Amy then went on to WIN the commercial section! Incredible!!! We are so very proud of all of our dancers and love to see them shine like this. And best of all, these children had the best time, supporting each other, sharing the highs and lows and making amazing memories.

Our competition squads of 2017/18 competed in the semi-finals of That’s Showbiz 2019. We had a fun day with two workshops delivered by Jon Ford and Alex Ryan (who’s also returning to Elite to choreograph a lyrical routine for our Elite Competition Squad). Both ‘Run Boy Run’ and ‘Friend Like Me’ have progressed to the finals in the Liverpool Echo Arena in March 2019.

Following our examination weekend from 7th - 8th September, the results have reflected our best set of exams to date! Maintaining our 100% pass rate - including a staggering 47 distinctions from our Pre-Juveniles to our Grade 5s and the highest Prep results ever. Exam certificates, report cards and rosettes will be arriving soon and will be given out accordingly at a presentation evening. Watch this space for more info! Sunday 21st January Elite Students took to the stage to compete against other local dancing schools at the Elton Dance Festival. Over the course of the day all of our students excelled themselves in both technique, performance and professionalism. With well deserved placings across the board for many students. The day also saw Chloe Poynton and Seren Williams take part in their first compeititon with dances by Miss Emma and Miss Laura. Teachers and parents were all thrilled with the days results.

Our students will return on Sunday 28th to Elton for the Lyrical, Acrobatic, more tap and modern and our Duets and Trios take to the stage for the first time. Students Amber Porter, Lillie Dodd and Isabella Roberts will also compete in the Cabaret Dance Challenges.

Sunday 26th November saw Elite School of Dance take to the stage to compete in the regional heats for the UK's biggest group dance competition, That's Showbiz. This competition involved all four of our squads from our juniors right through to our Seniors and Elite Squad. Routines were choreographed by Miss Laura McCabe, Miss Emma and Oliver with rigorous rehearsals since the start of term in September ready for the heats and application for the 2018 Dance World Cup which we submitted at the start of November.

Elite were on fighting form and received excellent scores, placings and commendations from the Adjudicators:

Elite will now be heading to the semi-finals to compete at the Blackpool Opera House in the new year.
